Our monthly Newsletter is distributed by volunteers, free-of-charge to 13,000 residents. It carries the latest news and calendar of events for the Richmond Hill area.
Our monthly open meetings, held at our facility, on the last Wednesday of every month (except for December, where there is no meeting), focus on the issues of importance to our residents, such as fire, police, sanitation, schools, safety and emergency management services for seniors and children. We bring in guest speakers each month to address different issues of concern. This months meeting information flyer can be found here.
The Richmond Hill Block Association will be having its FREE Mommy & Me program for the 2012 season. This is open to toddlers 12 months to 3 years of age accompanied by their Mom or Dad. Registration for this program is on a first-come, first-serve basis. We try to accommodate any extras with a waiting list. Mommy & Me helps parents build strong emotional bonds with their children through interaction. They have story time, arts & crafts, gym/movement and songs. It also enables parents to meet other parents from the community and allows the children to interact with their peers in a safe and fun environment.
We also host the annual Canned Food and Toy drive for families in need. We accept donations of canned food and unopened toys at the RHBA office on Wednesdays from 9:00am-4:00am.
We run an annual Park Fair in Forest Park, which is a day where the community comes out to celebrate, get educated on various issues, be entertained, and is just an all-around day of fun. The proceeds of this event go to RHBA to enable it to function for another year.
